Shipping Procedures

Shipping Procedures are NON-NEGOABLE

  • When choosing freight shipment, Vardo kits will be sent by LTL Freight unless otherwise requested for pickup by the buyer/ and or delivery agent, a 4 week grace period window is permitted there after notice of completion. Pickup location- Lansing, Michigan.

  • All items will be banded and shipped upon a wood pallet. Any purchase of a Vardo kit including a utility trailer will have all materials banded to trailer prior to pickup.

  • All Kits will be shipped by LTL freight, Semi/tractor trailer delivery.

    Unless requested to pickup for our Lansing, Michigan location.

    Typical 6-8 week completion time to shipment. Notification will be made at time of completion and documentation will be issued upon pickup.

    Items shipped by truck will be unloaded In the street at your driveway entrance to your property. Delivery drivers will not back into driveway nor move/position the pallet beyond the threshold of your driveway, due to liabilities. NO EXCEPTIONS

  • Accessibility requirements for freight delivery.

    Any kits being delivered by Semi tractor trailer truck. Street access must be wide enough for a semi truck in a non congested delivery address to carry out unloading of shipment (No alley ways, congested traffic areas, edge of the road parking) If you believe a semi can not easily park on nor maneuver in the street in front of buyers address, it is suggested to aqccure another trusted individual/address for delivery that meet requirements. Prior notification of estimated delivery date/time will be carried out by the shipping agent, and will be unloaded at the threshold of the driveway regardless if the receiver is present or not.

  • Any purchases including camper trailer frames must be picked up by the buyer or a designated agent in Lansing Michigan.

    All purchased materials will be banded to the trailer prior to pickup. A 4 week grace period of “storage” will be allotted after completion for pickup. PICKUP IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBLITY, We will not coordinate shipping on trailer frame purchases and or kits purchased with trailer frames, or assembled Vardo Cabins, this is the buyers responsibility to organize pickup of goods.

If Receiving Shipment by Freight

 Ordering a new Vardo kit is exciting, but the delivery process can introduce unexpected challenges. Most trailers ship via LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight, which means your shipment shares space on a large semi-truck with other freight. This keeps costs lower but adds mechanical limits during unloading.
 Liftgates are a standard requirement for all residential deliveries to ensure the heavy freight reaches the ground safely. They are also essential for small businesses that operate without the benefit of a dedicated loading dock or a forklift on-site. By using this hydraulic service, carriers can bridge the gap between the high truck bed and your delivery point.
Because LTL trucks sit several feet off the ground and do not carry forklifts, deliveries often rely on liftgate service. A liftgate makes curbside unloading possible, but it is not a universal solution. It has strict size, weight, and balance limits. If those limits are exceeded, delivery may become unsafe or physically impossible. Understanding how freight actually moves from inside the truck to the ground helps prevent delays, damage, and failed deliveries.
Understanding Delivery Location Access
Before unloading can begin, the truck must be able to safely reach the location and park. Freight trucks are typically 48 to 53 feet long and require:
  • Wide paved roads
  • Room to maneuver
  • Flat, solid pavement
  • Clearance behind the truck to lower the liftgate 
    Narrow streets, steep grades, soft surfaces, or overhead obstacles can prevent safe unloading. Even if the liftgate functions properly, delivery cannot proceed if the truck does not have a safe place to operate.
    What Is a Liftgate and How Does It Work?
    A liftgate is a hydraulic platform mounted to the rear of a freight truck. It works like a small elevator, lowering heavy shipments from trailer height to ground level.
